After interviewing six candidates, Nets team president Rod Thorn announced general manager Kiki Vandeweghe as the team's interim head coach. Lawrence Frank was canned after the New Jersey Nets started the season 0-16. Frank's assistant, Tom Barrise took over the team for its game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
